The fastest path is a correctly scaled file, a defined material, and a drawing for requirements the model cannot express.
Can I order without CAD?
The Laser Template Builder supports configurable flat shapes and engraved signs without uploading a drawing file. Custom RFQ can also begin with a written description and optional PDF or STEP attachments. CNC instant quoting requires a solid STEP/STP model; a photograph alone does not define machinable geometry.
Are the CNC, laser, and print tolerances the same?
No. KRC publishes ±0.005 inch as its standard CNC dimensional tolerance. Laser results depend on material, thickness, kerf, and geometry. Printed parts depend on material, orientation, and support placement. A CNC tolerance should not be assumed for either of the other processes.
What if my quantity or material is not in the selector?
Use custom RFQ for quantities beyond the online CNC or printing range, unlisted materials, and special requirements. A material guide explains a material family; it does not necessarily mean that grade is available for instant quoting. Online selectors establish the supported configuration.
Does an online quote guarantee every detail is manufacturable?
No. Production review checks tool access, workholding, slicing, and other process constraints. Overall size alone cannot detect every manufacturing limitation. Delivery commitments and special documentation are governed by the accepted order or quote, not by a general guide page.
Do I need a drawing?
A drawing is optional for the supported CNC upload, but useful whenever threads, tolerances, fits, or finish matter. Keep the drawing and model at the same revision. For laser cutting, upload a clean 2D DXF; for printing, verify units and overall dimensions in the viewer.
