The useful starting point

Choose printing for complex shapes and quick design iterations; account for layers, supports, and direction-dependent strength.

01 /

Build geometry layer by layer

FDM printing deposits thermoplastic along toolpaths. The process makes forms that can be awkward to machine, but it leaves visible layers and may require support material under overhangs. Support contact affects surface appearance and local dimensional quality.

02 /

Three useful material routes

PLA suits visual models and indoor fit checks. PETG-CF offers a stiffer, matte composite option for suitable functional geometry. TPU is flexible and works for compliant features such as pads and protective shapes. These are different material behaviors, not three levels on a universal strength scale.

03 /

Design for the real assembly

Allow clearance between mating printed parts. Add generous material around screws and avoid unsupported thin tabs. Hole shape and fit can depend on orientation and support contact. A printed copy of a metal component does not automatically inherit the strength or service rating of the original.

Current online workflow

Upload STEP, STP, STL, or 3MF and verify dimensions and units. The current quote envelope is 230 × 230 × 240 mm, with quantities of 1–20. KRC selects production orientation and supports during review. The quote’s envelope is a service limit rather than a promise that every enclosed geometry is printable.
