Choose PETG-CF when stiffness and appearance fit the application; chopped fiber does not make a printed part equivalent to metal or continuous-fiber laminate.
What the CF changes
PETG-CF combines a PETG matrix with short carbon fibers. The filler can increase stiffness and change surface appearance and printing behavior. Exact strength, temperature, and impact performance depend on the formulation and printed orientation. A generic family name is not a mechanical test result.
Useful applications
Fixture details, housings, positioning aids, and rigid brackets are possible directions when their loads fit the material. Thin spring features and repeated snap fits may be better served by another polymer. Layer bonding and stress direction still matter even when the surface looks uniform.
Design details
Use generous fillets where loads enter the part and enough section around screws. Avoid loading narrow tabs across their layer bonds. Holes and supported faces may require fit allowance. A matte appearance can make layer lines less obvious without removing the physical layered structure.
KRC options
PETG-CF is offered in black in the current print selector. The quote uses the supported printing envelope and file formats. No universal electrical insulation, temperature, or structural rating is implied. Functional designs should be validated using representative printed parts.
Prusament: one PETG-CF formulation
Manufacturer data describes that formulation; it is not a specification for KRC’s supplied filament.
