A repeat order works best when the design is released and every quantity refers to the same revision.
Production starts with a stable definition
Use a part number and revision that connect the STEP file, drawing, quote, and purchase order. Define material grade, stock condition, critical dimensions, finish, and any documentation needed. A revision-controlled package reduces the chance of mixing a new model with an old drawing.
Why batch size changes economics
Programming, setup, fixtures, and initial verification are shared across a batch. Increasing quantity can reduce their contribution per piece, but cutting time, material, handling, and inspection remain. Larger batches also tie up inventory; the lowest unit price is not always the lowest total business cost.
Qualify before committing
For a new assembly, validate the fit and function of a prototype or initial small batch before releasing a larger quantity. Testing should reflect actual loading and environmental conditions. A visual prototype may confirm shape without proving durability or final-material performance.
KRC ordering route
The CNC instant quote covers up to 20 pieces per part. Production quantities beyond that use custom RFQ with the batch quantity and revision package. Repeat work, scheduled releases, and special inspection requirements need a defined quoted scope; a repeat model alone does not promise a reserved production slot.
